The Reef is one of the best and most established accommodations in all of Akumal, welcoming couples and families, as well as dive groups, from around the world.  Awesome snorkeling is right outside your door in Half Moon Bay; or for a different underwater perspective, take a 10-minute walk and go snorkeling in the tranquil waters of Yal-Ku Lagoon.  Of course, if your just in the mood to hang out, you’ll find lounge chairs for sunbathing and a couple of thatched umbrellas for when you’ve had enough sun but still want to be out on the beach, maybe caught up in a great book, or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of paradise!

Stores and restaurants are nearby; on Half Moon Bay there are two convenience stores for last minute items and snacks, maybe even some cervezas’?  There are also two restaurants on the Bay; a little to the south is La Buena Vida, a local favorite watering hole/restaurant, with a sand floor and rope ‘swing bar’; the other way, toward Yal-Ku Lagoon, is La Lunita restaurant, serving excellent international cuisine; you can enjoy dining inside, or outside on the beach!  Akumal Bay is the heart of town, just two kilometers to the south, where you’ll find more restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores, dive shops, just about anything you could think of to complete your tropical vacation getaway!
