If a reservation is made within 60 days of arrival, payment in full is required within 3 days of reserving.
If a reservation is made more than 60 days prior to arrival, a 50% deposit is due within 3 days of reserving, with the balance due 60 days prior to arrival.
If a reservation is made with occupancy during the Christmas Week or during the New Years Week, full payment is required within 3 days of reserving.
PAYMENT BY MULTIPLE PARTIES
One party must be responsible for making payment(s) for a reservation. If wishing to split the cost between several parties, please ask before making your reservation and if we are able, we will make arrangements to accept payment from more than one party. The reserving party ultimately remains responsible, should the other party fail to pay their agree upon portion of the reservation.
ACCEPTED METHODS OF PAYMENT
Akumal Vacations accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, as well as payment by check sent to our U.S. office. If paying by check, please make payable to Akumal Vacations and mail it to; Akumal Vacations, P.O. Box 575, Conroe, TX, 77305.
CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS
Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive a Confirmation/Invoice by email, where you can sign in and view your reservation details as well as make payment secure, online. Should you prefer not to pay online, you are welcome to call our U.S. office with your card information. Our toll free number is 1-800-448-7137. Please do not send credit card information in an email.
SECURITY AND DAMAGE DEPOSITS
Some of the properties that we represent require a damage deposit, which barring any damages to the property during your stay, is fully refundable. To determine if the property at which you will be staying requires such a deposit, please check with us or see the notes directly beneath the rates, on our web page for the specific property at which you will be staying.
DIRECTIONS AND KEYS
Upon making full payment of final payment of a reservation, you will be issued an Accommodation Voucher which has directions to your accommodations, where to get the keys, who to see should you need assistance, as well as emergency contact information. Please print your Accommodation Voucher and bring it with you to your accommodations.
The following assessments will apply to the cancellation of a reservation;
– Cancellation prior to 60 days from arrival date will result in forfeiture of the 50% deposit.
– Cancellation less than 60 days and more than 30 days prior to arrival date will result in the forfeiture of 75% of the total rent.
– Cancellation less than 30 days prior to arrival date will result in the forfeiture of 100% of total rent.
There are no refunds for canceled reservations with occupancy during the Thanksgiving Week, the Christmas Week, or the New Years Week, regardless of when the cancellation is made.
Cancellations are effective on the date written notice is received by Fax or e-mail in our U. S. office. If a refund is applicable, the refund will be processed by Akumal Vacations within two weeks in the form of a check in US dollars or if applicable, a credit back to the credit card which was used to make payment, less any applicable fees. Cancellations may be subject not only to the cancellation penalties as listed above, but also up to a $200.00 U.S.D. cancellation fee, depending on the property.
CANCELLATION PROTECTION / TRAVEL INSURANCE
Due to the strict nature of the cancellation policy, guests are urged to purchase travel insurance which may cover loss, depending on the reason for the cancellation. We are unable to recommend a specific travel insurance company. Below are just some of the many that you may want to check with for coverage;

ACCEPTABLE USE OF RENTAL PROPERTY
Any use of a dwelling other than residential during a “regular” vacation must be approved in advance by the property management and/or owner. Only the number of people reflected in the reservation and Accommodation Voucher are permitted to over-night at the dwelling. No weddings, parties or large gatherings are permissible without prior approval. Failure to comply with these terms may result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of all monies paid.
Akumal Vacations reserves the right to charge a $50.00 U.S. change fee for any changes and each time that there are changes made to a reservation after the deposit has been made, with the exception of extending the reservation. NOTICE: The $50.00 change fee does not allow you to change your dates. In order to do so, the property at which you scheduled to stay must first approve a date change and then confirm your stay for the new dates. In addition to the Akumal Vacations $50.00 change fee, the renting party is also responsible for any change fees charged by the property itself. Note: If approved, the property “Las Casitas Akumal” charges $100.00 U.S.D. each time that a change is made to a reservation, which would be in addition to the $50.00 fee charged by Akumal Vacations.
There are no refunds due to bad weather or hurricanes; including any inconvenience or complication caused by a hurricane’s direct hit, near miss, or significant threat of a hurricane strike. Hurricanes are by nature unpredictable and an act of God. Clients are encouraged to purchase travel insurance to protect their vacation investment.
AS A CLIENT OF AKUMAL VACATIONS
I understand that Akumal Vacations, dba www.akumalvacations.com (from hereafter referred to as Akumal Vacations), is not the source or supplier of the travel services or accommodation services I have requested, and acts solely as an agent for the actual suppliers of such services. I have been advised that the suppliers, whose names appear in the information supplied to me, are those who are actually responsible for providing the services I have purchased. I consent to, and request the use of, those service suppliers and agree not to hold Akumal Vacations, www.akumalvacations.com, responsible should any of these suppliers: 1) fail to provide the travel or accommodation services I have purchased; 2) fail to comply with any applicable law; or 3) engage in any negligent act of omission that causes me any sort of injury, damage, delay or other inconvenience.
I will review my travel documents for accuracy upon receipt and understand that I may contact Akumal Vacations if I have any questions.
I understand that Akumal Vacations portrays the properties as they are to the best of their ability and that Akumal Vacations has no responsibility for changes in the rental properties or problems arising there from. Akumal Vacations is not liable for any injuries, accidents, theft or misfortune that may occur during my stay. Any questions or complaints regarding the reserved property(s) during my stay shall be directed to on-site property staff and/or management of said property.
I understand that I am urged to take out adequate insurance coverage to protect my vacation investment against cancellation due to illness, flight cancellations, etc. I understand that in the event of becoming ill during or after our vacation, or having to cut our vacation short, all hospital and medical expenses are my responsibility and I shall not be entitled to any refund either total or partial. I accept that Akumal Vacations and its employees are not responsible for, nor will I attempt to hold Akumal Vacations liable for any claims, losses, damages, costs, expenses, delays or loss of enjoyment, of any nature or kind whatsoever resulting from events beyond Akumal Vacations or a supplier’s reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, flight cancellations or changes, strikes, labor disputes, lockouts, threats or acts of terrorism, acts of war or declared war, industrial accidents, pandemics, hurricanes or other weather conditions.
I, the renter/leasee of said dwelling offered for rent by Akumal Vacations, understand and agree to abide by ALL the terms and regulations set above in this document, and as the renter/leasee, I agree to be held financially responsible.
